Mobile Shredding Services in Downtown Los Angeles

Booking a shred truck downtown is rarely about the shredding. It's about whether the truck clears your garage, whether the dock is reserved, whether the freight elevator is available at 9am, and whether your property manager has our certificate of insurance on file. We've been servicing Downtown LA buildings for four decades, and we deal with all of that as a matter of routine — most of it before your driver ever arrives.

Then the actual job is simple: our truck parks at street level or your dock, our crew brings your material down in locked bins, everything is destroyed on-site while you watch, and you get a signed Certificate of Destruction before we leave. Your documents never travel intact.

Certificate of Destruction

Your Paper is Recycled

We know what your building will ask for

Downtown property management has requirements that trip up shredding vendors constantly. Here's what we handle:

  • Certificate of insurance. Most Class A buildings downtown require a vendor COI naming the building and management company as additional insured, on file before service. Send us your building's requirements and we'll have our carrier issue it — typically within a day or two, not a week.

  • Dock reservations and time windows. Many towers restrict vendor access to specific hours. Tell us your window and we'll schedule the truck into it.

  • Height clearance. This is the one that surprises people. Our shred trucks don't fit in most subterranean garages — typical clearance downtown runs well under what a shred truck needs. That's not a problem: we park at the loading dock or street level and move your material down in locked, wheeled bins. You don't have to carry anything.

  • Freight elevator booking. Tell us the reservation time and we'll build the route around it.

If you're the office manager who got handed this task, the short version is: give us your building's name and your contact in management, and we'll take the coordination off your plate.

Downtown's shredding needs, by district

Law firms — Bunker Hill, Financial District, the towers along Figueroa and Grand. Closed-matter file purges are the largest single category of work we do downtown. California attorneys carry a statutory duty to maintain client confidences under Business & Professions Code §6068(e), and that duty doesn't end when the matter closes — it extends to how the file is eventually destroyed. Dumping client files in the building trash is a genuine professional exposure. We provide witnessed destruction and a certificate for the file. Many firms run recurring consoles at every workstation plus an annual purge after their retention review.

Banks, accounting firms and financial services. GLBA obligations, tax workpapers, loan files, and the seven-year cliff where whole storage rooms suddenly become disposable. Recurring bins in accounting and reception, plus a scheduled annual purge, is the standard setup.

The Fashion District — and product destruction. Downtown's apparel trade generates a destruction need most shredding companies don't advertise: defective, mislabeled, overrun, counterfeit or brand-protected goods that must be verifiably destroyed rather than resold or donated. If a brand's compliance team requires documented destruction of seized or rejected inventory, we handle that and certify it. Same for showroom samples and discontinued branded merchandise.

The Jewelry District. Appraisals, customer files, purchase records, and consignment paperwork carrying names, addresses and valuations — an unusually attractive target if it reaches a dumpster intact.

Civic Center and public agencies. Departmental purges under public records retention schedules, with the documentation that an audit will ask for.

Arts District and Historic Core creative studios and startups. Smaller volumes, often clustered in shared or converted buildings, where several tenants can split a single truck visit.

What it costs and how it's measured

  • One-time purges price by volume. We measure by a standard 15" × 12" × 10" box, or by the 64-gallon bin if your material isn't boxed — one bin holds about 7 boxes. Give us a rough box count on the phone and you'll get a real number.

  • Recurring service prices per container, not per hour. You never pay for the time we spend collecting or hauling.

  • Volume is not a constraint. Each truck holds up to 5 tons. A full floor's records room is a normal day, not a special project.

  • We'll beat any written competitor quote by 20%. Downtown is heavily worked by national vendors; if you have a number from one of them, send it over.

Witnessed destruction, which matters more

Every truck has a camera feed so you can watch the shredder run — you get a front-row seat without leaving the dock. For regulated material, that matters: a Certificate of Destruction backed by "our office manager watched it happen" is a much stronger position in an audit or a bar complaint than a receipt from a vendor who drove your files somewhere.

All shredded paper is baled and recycled into new paper products. Nothing is landfilled, and your material is mixed with other customers' shred, which makes any reconstruction attempt effectively impossible.

How does one-time shredding work?

Step 1: Scheduled an appointment

  • Schedule your shredding service by completing our free quote form or calling our office. One of our friendly staff members will answer all your questions and schedule you for a day convenient for you!

Step 2: Prepare for the day of service

  • Have your documents prepared for shredding. You can do this by placing them in a box, bag, or anything that can hold them. No need to remove staples, paperclips, binder clips, hanging folders, or 3-ring binders. They can all be shredded with your paper!

Step 3: Day of service

  • One of our drivers will give you a call 30 minutes before he arrives.

  • The driver will transfer your paper into a 64-Gallon bin; each bin holds 7 boxes of paper. It will then be transferred to the truck to be shredded.

  • All the paper will be shredded on-site before the driver leaves your location.

  • The driver will have you sign a Certificate of Destruction. This verifies that all your documents have been destroyed!
